A former staff development director and classroom teacher, Joan Vandervelde began creating unique Web-based learning experiences to help her do what she enjoyed doing most: designing and delivering online instruction. InstructOnline, LLC, founded in 1998, is now a leading developer for online training and educational Web sites.

Today the company includes a team of experienced, innovative instructional designers, graphic artists, and Web developers.

The team assists university educators and museums and national heritage area education coordinators in developing customized educational websites.

Online workshops have been delivered in partnership with Silos and Smokestacks National Heritage Area, the University of Northern Iowa, and University of Wisconsin-Stout.
